Our StoryAs a family-owned vineyard and winery, we would love to share our story with you. We purchased our estate in 2009 and soon after joined together in marriage in our backyard in 2010; the vineyard making a lovely setting for our wedding. If you come visit our winery, you will likely see our spirited boys running around enjoying the vineyard. Though we both have jobs outside of vineyard management and wine making, we pour our heart and soul into this business and are very passionate about it.

About Our Vineyard
|
Our grapes are grown organically and in a sustainable manner, and we only apply certified organic products when needed. Since we live on the estate, our grapes get the utmost attention. We are present to watch them year-round and assure they are in optimal health and are picked at the prime time to produce only the highest quality wines. Our grapes are also hand-picked and sorted, assuring only the best fruit goes into our wine.
In 2011, we first began making wine with our estate-grown Barbera. During that time the both of us enrolled in courses at UC Davis to gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of winemaking. Along with the coursework, we apprenticed with our dear friends Tod and Alyse Hickman of Hickman Family Vineyards in Bangor, CA. Over a 4 year adventure we were able to get our hands sticky and purple while obtaining the practical experience we were wanting. We have a simplistic style to winemaking; we want the grapes to speak for themselves and we do everything we can to bring the story of the vine to glass in each vintage. Our wine is made from three estate varietals every year, but we also source fruit from nearby vineyards in the Sierra Foothills. Occasionally, we venture into the Lake County and coastal areas to purchase grapes when we are looking for varieties that are grown in those regions. We feel that finding excellent grapes and especially growers that are willing to work with our specific needs is what allows us to produce unique wines in small lots. Being a small vineyard and winery allows us the ability to pay close attention to the entire process, from vine to fermentation and aging, all the way to when the cork and label go on the bottle. Expect that throughout the year you will find us bouncing from the vineyard to the tasting room, as we feel that caring for both are of equal priority. |
Where We're Headed
|
We hope to remain a small artisan winery which can continue to deliver excellent wines. We plan on hosting events and tastings that foster a unique and intimate experience that you can only obtain from a small winery. One thing is for sure, we want you to enjoy yourself and our wines and to drink responsibly.
Cheers, Vanessa & Jess |
